Aion 2 System Requirements: Can Your PC Run It?

Minimum: Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), 8 GB of RAM, a GTX 1050 Ti, DirectX 12 and 100 GB of free space. Recommended: 16 GB of RAM and an RTX 2070. Both tiers list the same 100 GB, and both say SSD recommended. Those are the official figures on the Steam store listing for the global PC release.

The spec sheet is unusually forgiving for an Unreal Engine 5 MMO. The line that actually catches people out isn't the graphics card — it's the storage.

The 100 GB line is the one that bites

Most games list a smaller minimum than recommended. Aion 2 doesn't — it's 100 GB in both rows. Whatever else you upgrade, that number doesn't move.

And no separate download size has been published. The install footprint and the download aren't necessarily the same figure, and a game this size normally ships day-one patches that add to it. Reserve the full 100 GB rather than clearing exactly what the store page says and stalling mid-install on launch day.

SSD: officially "recommended", practically required

NCSoft's note on both tiers is one line: SSD Recommended. It is not listed as a hard requirement, and that wording is doing a lot of quiet work.

This is a streamed open-world game built around flight, which is about the worst access pattern a mechanical drive can be asked to handle — fast vertical traversal across large regions means constant asset loading. On a hard drive you should expect texture pop-in and hitching as you move, on top of long load screens. Treat the SSD as required if you care how it feels rather than whether it boots.

Read the preset notes, not just the hardware rows

NCSoft attaches a graphics-preset note to each tier: Very Low at 1080p on minimum hardware, Low at 1080p on recommended hardware. Those notes tell you more than the tables do.

They mean both tiers are published as compatibility guarantees, not quality promises. An RTX 2070 will run Aion 2 comfortably; running it maxed is a different budget.

DLSS 4.5 is confirmed; the details are not

NVIDIA has stated that the Western build ships with DLSS 4.5. In its own words: "When the Western version is released on September 30th, AION 2 will include support for DLSS 4.5, enabling the highest levels of image quality and performance on GeForce RTX GPUs." NCSoft published a matching DLSS 4.5 trailer on September 2, 2026.

Keep the claim narrow, because that's all the official record supports. Still unpublished: the global build's graphics-settings menu, which individual DLSS components are exposed, and any performance figure — so treat marketing language about multiplied performance as copy, not measurement. FSR and XeSS have no official statement covering the Western build, even though the Korean service has run FSR 4 since its July 15, 2026 update. Ray tracing and Ray Reconstruction have not been announced for Aion 2. And no 1440p or 4K target has been published.

One caveat that comes from Korean patch notes rather than NVIDIA: on RTX 50-series laptop GPUs, using Frame Generation together with G-SYNC was reported to cause abnormal shutdowns on some laptops. If you're on one, that's worth remembering when the global client goes live.

What has not been confirmed

Before September 30

Clear the 100 GB now, on an SSD if you have room on one. Everything else on this list is either cheap to fix or not worth fixing: 8 GB of RAM will launch the game but 16 GB is the practical target once Windows, a browser and voice chat are running alongside it, and RAM is the cheapest upgrade here.

The dates these specs apply to: Founder's Pack holders go in on September 30, 2026, everyone else on October 5, 2026, both on PC through Steam and NCSoft's PURPLE launcher. Requirements can change before launch; if the Steam listing is revised, this page follows it.
